I have begun my 21 Day Fix Journey and week 1 is complete! Here’s all the 21 Day Fix Information you need to know before starting! The 21 Day Fix was created by fitness competitor, model, and trainer, Autumn Calabrese. She is the perfect example of having a busy life by juggling health, family, and her career. She created this fitness program to give you MAXIMUM results in only three weeks! It takes 21 days to form a habit and that’s exactly what this program sets you up for- creating healthy habits and a healthy lifestyle. It teaches you portion control and how to combine your nutrition and fitness for maximum results. I was honestly skeptical to do this program, worrying if it would be intense enough after completing programs such as Insanity, P90X, and T25 – boy did I not need to worry. After completing the 1st week I not only love the program – it can be as intense as you make it!

Dumbells or resistance bands are used in some of the workouts – if is recommended to have a light set and a heavy set – I have 5 and 10 pounds.
A yoga mat may be needed if exercising on hard floor for support and to prevent slipping in some of the workouts.
The workouts are all 30 minutes and can get pretty intense! But don’t fret – there is a modifier in every workout in case you need to catch your breath. I really like the variety of workouts -from cardio and cardio with weights to upper and lower focused workouts to yoga and pilates! You will not get bored with the variety in these 21 days. The workouts that are included in the base program are below.

This is by far the easiest nutrition plan I have ever followed! It even includes special treats which you can replace one yellow container with 3 times a week- and this even include WINE, yes I said WINE!
For the 21 Day Fix nutrition, you start off by calculating the your calorie target and that puts you in a category for how many of each container you can eat each day.
For example, my calorie target is in the 1200 -1500 range so I eat the following :
3 Green: Vegetables
4 Red: Lean Protein
2 Purple: Fruits
2 Yellow: Grains
1 Blue: Nuts and Healthy Fats
1 Orange: Seeds and Dressings
2 tsp: Nut and Seed butters, Oils
Then, you choose from a list of clean foods for each container.
I then make up a meal plan based on those containers and voila! For example, my 4 reds for Thursday are Shakeology, greek yogurt, tofu, and baja lime shrimp.
Shakeology is recommended for the MAXIMUM results and counts as a red (protein) container.
I was curious to how large each container was so I’ve measured out the size of each container and included it below!
What about Vegetarians and Vegans?
I am a vegetarian! I find the eating plan super easy to follow. There are plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans as well! The nutrition guide also includes recipe ideas for meals to suggest how to combine containers.
