Everyone’s heard it, “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”. Not only does a HEALTHY breakfast provide energy for morning activities, eating breakfast also revs up your metabolism, and keeps you from binging later in the day. An easy go- to breakfast full of whole grain and protein is this quick and easy clean oatmeal recipe!
For the 21 Day Fix this is 1 yellow (with water), 1 purple, and 1 tsp!
1/2 cup of old fashioned oats
1/2 cup of skim, almond, or soy milk
1/2 a banana
1 tsp of natural peanut butter
I also added a few blueberries : )
1) Add oats, milk, and banana to a microwave safe bowl
2) Microwave for 1 minute, stir, and microwave another 30 seconds.
3) Stir in the peanut butter (and blueberries if you like!)
Looking at the recipe 1/4 cup of oatmeal seemed a little skimpy to me but after adding in the milk, banana, and peanut butter – it made the perfect amount! Using skim milk this recipe has about 165 calories. However, if you are feeling hungry go ahead and double the recipe (still only 330 calories!)
